Please note that 5 dBi gain sensitivity does not mean 2.5X the range compared to the standard 2 dBi antenna. 

This is because gain ratings are not computed linearly.

Because our 5 dBi upgrade has a different sensitivity pattern than our 2 dBi antenna, the 5 dBi upgrade will pick up different networks than the 2 dBi one. 

The 5 dBi upgrade will pick up some signals better than the 2 dBi antenna, while picking up some signals worse than the 2 dBi antenna.
