“To put it simply: this thing works. At 240 feet, with a concrete wall between us and our 802.11b/g router, our laptop's integrated WiFi receiver gave up the ghost but the BearExtender PC felt like it was just getting warmed up...at $45 this is great deal if you are cursed by low signal strength and just don't feel like dancing.."
David Winograd | The Unofficial Apple Weblog
"It's not often that I've come across a product that works perfectly, does exactly what it says it will, costs a lot less than its closest competitor and provides a real and salient difference in my computing experience...In my testing I found that a device showing 57% signal strength using the Airport card became 100% using the BEn3."
Ewdison Then | SlashGear.com
"...We tested it with an Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n router and found that we could almost double the distance between it and the notebook. Much of the time the signal strength read 100, and despite the bulk of the antenna, it clipped to the lid of our test MacBook Pro and proved little of a hinderance..."

You know how you search and search for a simple computer solution and finally you think you find what you want and for a myriad of reasons, it doesn't? And it only becomes apparent after you have wailed and gnashed your teeth for at least 3 hours?
The BearExtender is not like that. You order, it arrives, you install the software, plug it in, follow the very simple instructions, and it works.
I feel like Steve Jobs (or how SJ would have felt had he not passed). I can now watch live video from the far end of my property from the comfort of my own bed instead of geting up every 2 hours, getting halfway dressed (stout boots and a coat), grabbing a flashlight and stomping off into the night to check on the status of my pregnant mare. Who is always asleep and far from gruntled at being woken.
So thank you BearExtender. I Lub You.

The BearExtender Mini has a beautifully simple design that integrates well with the Mac. It works far better than I expected from reading reviews of it's predecessor, the BearExtender (sans "Mini"). The software bugs that plagued the users of the first version must have been fixed on the Mini because I found the software easy to use and intuitive. It was up and running within 5 minutes of arrival and pulling in free Wi-Fi connections easily. It easily doubled the signal strength and speed of the AirPort that came with my Mac. My AirPort is now functioning as a Wi-Fi hotspot for my iPhone and Kindle.

I recently purchased the Bearextender Mac for a friend. He had purchased a new iMac and wanted to use his old iMac in another part of the house. The signal strength from his router was poor in the room of the house he wanted to put his old iMac. Bearextender solved that problem completely. The connection strength went from 30% to 95% and works like a champ. This things works! A definite recommend!
